OpenVMS USERS MEETING SET FOR FEB. 4TH IN VANCOUVER An informal technical session to generate interest in re-establishing a local HP users group in the Vancouver area is set for this coming Wednesday on February 4th. OpenVMS Ambassador, Kevin FitzPatrick, from HP (Canada) Co. in Toronto will be present to discuss the latest OpenVMS updates and developments. The event is presented by the Association in collaboration with Hewlett-Packard (Canada) Co. There is no registration fee for this unique opportunity to reconnect with users from the industry. ASSOCIATION APPROACHES PHASE 4 OF DEVELOPMENT ROAD MAP The Association in 2004 will focus on phase 4 of the Association development road map, concentrating on creating greater value for our membership and HP, and continuing to generate revenue to sustain the ongoing administration and development of the organization. Do you want to move to Java on VMS? Do you have Oracle Forms in your environment on VMS? If you are presently working in any of these environments and want to chat with an HP professional, visit the CANACU discussion board and go to the TECH TALK conference located in the 'List of Conferences' to post your message. NEW INSTAPOLL SURVEY ON Tru64 UNIX A new online Instapoll survey is available to help the HP Tru64 Development and Support Teams measure current plans of the Tru64 community for future transitions and/or issues that are waiting to be resolved before they can complete their plans. Go to the HP User Group Online Advocacy page to access the survey or sign up to participate in a Tru64 UNIX to HP-UX pilot transition program at: http://www.hpuseradvocacy.org/Surveys/2004January/index.cfm 5. OpenVMS HOBBYIST LICENSE You can order the OpenVMS Hobbyist License through your membership in the Association. Here are the instructions: - The complete transaction takes place on the OpenVMS site - Go to - Go to the link "License Register". This will take you to a license registration page where you will be required to complete a form - Enter your Association membership number on the ordering form - If you do not know your membership number, or you are not a member of the Association, send an e-mail message to inquire@canacu.org. The license is free of charge. There is a charge of $30.00 USF if you want to receive the software on CD media. 6.
