CANACU BECOMES ENCOMPASS CANADA The Board of Directors of the Canadian Association of Compaq Users has unanimously approved the decision to adopt 'Encompass Canada - An HP User Group' as the new name for the association. SEASONS GREETINGS FROM THE ASSOCIATION PRESIDENT “The past year has been one of decisions and challenges in the Association’s ongoing pursuit to bring value to its membership and HP. TECHNICAL SEMINARS WITH HP FOR 2005 Encompass Canada in collaboration with HP is planning a series of technical seminars to be held in regional centres across Canada in the new year. One-day seminars in Vancouver and Toronto are already scheduled for February 2005. ASSOCIATION WEB SITE UNDER TRANSITION To reflect the Association's name change to Encompass Canada, our existing Web site is currently being transitioned over a new Web site under the encompasscanada domain. Until the transition is complete, some links on the new site will continue to point to Web pages at canacu.org. In the mean time, please bookmark this page as the main page to the new Web site for Encompass Canada: http://www.encompasscanada.com/ 5. A PLACE FOR TECH TALK Are you a VMS user using Forte? Anyone using Rally on VMS? Do you want to move to Java on VMS? Do you have Oracle Forms in your environment on VMS? If you are presently working in any of these environments and want to chat with an HP professional, visit the CANACU discussion board and go to the TECH TALK conference located in the 'List of Conferences' to post your message. OpenVMS HOBBYIST LICENSE You can order the OpenVMS Hobbyist License through your membership in the Association. Here are the instructions: - The complete transaction takes place on the OpenVMS site - Go to - Go to the link "License Register". This will take you to a license registration page where you will be required to complete a form - Enter your Association membership number on the ordering form - If you do not know your membership number, or you are not a member of the Association, send an e-mail message to inquire@canacu.org. The license is free of charge.
