Association Newsletter - October 16, 2002 Edition SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT THIS WEEK: THE FUTURE OF USER GROUPS IN CANADA On the week of November 4, 2002, HP (Canada) Ltd. will be hosting a summit in Toronto to discuss the future of user groups in Canada. Participants invited to the summit will include members of the Association board as well as representatives from other Compaq and HP user groups in Canada. To help the Board become better informed in representing the views of the Association membership at this very important meeting, we ask for your reply with your answers to the questions below before the end of October. Thanks Dave Wilson, President 1. What do you see as the strengths of the Association? 2. What do you see as the weaknesses of the Association? 3. What expectations do you have for the future of HP/Compaq user groups, particularly in Canada? 4. How do you see the new HP engaging user groups in Canada? Be as specific as possible with your ideas. 5. What are the top three critical issues affecting user groups that need to be discussed at the Summit? 6. Please define what you understand as "Advocacy" in the user group context. Explain the user group's role as you see it and detail any ideas you have for improvement. 7. What do YOU want to get out of your user group? What will help you the most in your enterprise?
